Partnering with Providers

No one – not health plans, doctors, hospitals or the government – has all of the answers that will improve our health care system and the quality of care that Americans receive.  Although every piece of the health care system is making important contributions, Americans expect greater collaboration among all stakeholders.

Working closely with doctors, hospitals, other providers, employers and the government, health plans are in the unique position of “seeing the entire playing field” and are thus well positioned to identify what’s working, what’s not and how care can be improved.  That’s why health plans take very seriously their responsibility to work hand-in-hand with doctors, hospitals, and states and local communities.  Only by working together will we find ways to make health care more affordable and ensure that consumers, employers, and taxpayers are getting the best value for their hard-earned health care dollars.
